What Is a Dovetail Deck?

A dovetail deck is a profiled steel decking system used to form a composite concrete floor slab. It consists of galvanized steel sheets with a distinctive dovetail-shaped rib profile. The steel deck acts as permanent formwork during concrete placement and, after the concrete cures, can work together with the concrete to carry structural loads.
